TEMPORARY traffic lights were left stuck on red in a Dorset town centre this morning.
Lights on the junction at Orchard Street and Friary Lane in Dorchester stopped working correctly in rush-hour at around 9am, Dorset Council says.
Travel Dorset reported that engineers were on the scene shortly after the signalling issue started.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "We were first made aware of a problem with the lights around 9am (which we tweeted).
"We spoke (in our duty as highways authority) to the traffic management operatives (Amberon) who had already been informed of the fault and were on their way to attend.
"In the absence of any further calls we will safely assume the problem has been resolved."
The temporary lights are in place between October 25 and December 17 due to roadworks in the area.
The authority confirmed that the roadworks in the area are the reuslt of scaffolding to complete work on the Kings Arms Pub.
