A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £500 in costs after he was caught driving a vehicle without a licence and insurance on a busy route in Dorset.
Richard Scott Phillips, aged 49, was behind the wheel of an Audi on the A35 Puddletown Bypass outside of Dorchester on Saturday, April 3.
Following enquires by police officers, it was discovered that Phillips was not insured to drive the vehicle and also he did not have a driving licence.
Phillips, of Sunningdale Road in Yeovil, was later charged with driving without a driving licence and insurance.
Phillips pleaded guilty to the charges at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 18.
Magistrates ordered Phillips to pay a £392 fine, court costs of £90 and a £39 victim surcharge. Phillips’ driving record was also endorsed with six penalty points as a result of his conviction.
