A GRAFFITI yob defacing a property on Weymouth's historic Georgian seafront was caught in the act by police this afternoon.

Officers from Weymouth & Portland Police were flagged down by a member of the public reporting that a young male was in the act of graffiting a property on The Esplanade.

"We arrived moments later to find a young male still in the act with a can of spray can in his hand," a spokesman for the force said.

"All items have been removed from him and he will be spoken to at a later date. This area has been a regular site for anti-social behaviour in the past and we will continue to conduct patrols and speak to individuals congregating here."
