AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after two men were arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a knife at a nightclub in Weymouth.

Now officers are appealing for information from the public regarding the incident involving the men reportedly in possession of the knife at Actor's, in Maiden Street.

At around 2.40am on Monday, November 1 Dorset Police received a report three men were in possession of a knife at the popular nightclub in the town centre.

It was further reported that a knife had been seized by security staff at the premises following a disturbance outside.

Following enquiries, two local men – aged 20 and 31 – were arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article.

They have been released on police bail as officers carry out further enquiries.

Police Constable Susan Tagg, of Dorset Police’s Volume Crime Team, said: "We're continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who has captured any relevant dashcam, home CCTV or mobile phone footage relating to the incident."
