DORCHESTER Town’s new management team of Glenn Howes and James Wood take charge of their first home game when Kings Langley visit the Avenue Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Manager Howes and assistant Wood have overseen three away games since coming to Dorchester in late October.

While the duo are still searching for their first win, opportunities for points are tangible with Lango and Tuesday’s opponents Wimborne languishing in the bottom three.

And Wood told Echosport he is simply enjoying operating at Pitching In Southern League Premier South level.

He said: “Glenn and myself are so happy to be back in this league, we class it as a proper league.

“There are probably 12, 14 teams that are all capable of beating each other. It’s a tight league with very good teams and players.

“We’ve looked at this period of games – we need to pick up points. Hopefully we kick on.

“We’re looking forward to playing at home. If the boys keep performing as they are, the tide will change.

“It’s a big game and Tuesday. So, it’s a difficult period but it’s what you want. You want to be playing in games where every game has something on it. This is the beauty of this league.”

On the homecoming, he added: “It will be nice for Glenn, having played there before. I’ve been on the touchline there numerous times on opposition benches.

“We have to start making it a fortress for us, that’s our aim.”

Flavio Tavares (calf) and Sam Davidson (ankle) will be assessed.
