THE fire service is reminding people not to have campfires in the countryside after firefighters were called to extinguish a campfire last night.
One crew from Weymouth Fire Station was called to the campfire in Kimmeridge at 7.10pm last night.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire engine was sent to Kimmeridge to a campfire.
"Fire crews extinguished the fire. Please even in the winter do not have campfires in the countryside."
