A YOUTH club in Weymouth is relaunching to give children and young people a place to socialise, have fun and get help with homework.

The XChange Youth Group at Weymouth Family Church is reopening for the first time since lockdown, based at Bethany Hall, Westham Road. All are welcome.

Sessions include a homework club on Thursdays during term time, from 3.30pm – 4.30pm aimed at school years 3- 11. There is also a Friday evening youth group for young people in school years 7 – 11.

The Homework Club offers free internet, laptops, and tutors on hand. The Youth Group offers online gaming, pool and table tennis.

Mick Richardson, leader of Weymouth Family Church, said: "It has always been our aim to serve all people in our community including children and young people. We are really pleased to be able to offer XChange Youth Group as an opportunity to do this."

James Kirkby, children, youth and families worker, added: "XChange is a place where young people can come and feel safe and supported, a place to build positive relationships and have fun. Given all that we have been through with lockdown and the terrible impact that has had on people’s lives we hope XChange will be a place where young people can come and be encouraged’
