A FORMER pottery studio in Weymouth town centre could soon become a nail bar as proposals for change of use have been unveiled.

If approved, the planning application submitted to Dorset Council would see the classification of unit 1, 49 St Mary Street change classification from use as a shop.

The plans state that there would be no change to the external facade of the premises, near St Mary's Church, and that there would be no change to the internal structure of the building.

According to the proposals the premises is currently unoccupied. It was previously run as pottery painting studio Bella Ceramics, employing two members of staff, one of whom was part-time.

Applicants say the proposed nail salon would employ one full time and two part-time employees and would open between the hours of 9am until 7.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am until 5pm on Sundays.
