PORTLAND United are prepared for a stern test against Moneyfields in the Wessex League Premier Division at the Camp & Satherley Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Moneys took voluntary relegation to the Wessex Premier in the summer and sit 10th in the standings – seven places above the Blues.

However, Franklyn Clarke’s Portland have lost just two of their past eight games as the islanders enjoy an upswing in form.

Speaking ahead of the contest Clarke, who will serve a one-game ban for bookings earned, told Echosport: “All I’m focused on is us and how we can hurt them.

“I think we can. The personnel we’ve got showed we can cause any team in this league problems – even Horndean, who put six past us.

“We created chances that we should’ve scored so it literally is just a case of being more clinical in front of goal.

“I say the same thing each week but the chances are being created, we’ve just got to put them in the back of the net.

“We really should be higher than where we’re at but performance levels are the main thing. They’re starting to get more consistent.”

At the time of writing, manager Clarke is seeking clarification on whether his playing suspension overflows to a touchline ban.

Portland are otherwise set to welcome back Josh Williams from a one-game suspension, while Mike Edgar and Joel Hewitt are available.

Skipper Ryan McKechnie (knee) could return but will be assessed pre-match.
