A CITIZENS Advice service in Dorset will be extending its opening hours after recruiting more volunteers.

The face-to-face drop-in service at Citizens Advice in Weymouth Library will be extended to include Friday mornings from 10am to 12pm from Friday, November 26.

Rachel Rogers, Volunteer Development Coordinator at Central Dorset Citizens Advice, said "Our face-to-face drop-in service currently operates on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10 am-12 noon, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being reserved for pre-booked appointments.

"We have recently recruited several new volunteer advisers and this has given us the capacity to open up our drop-in service on Friday mornings as well. You don't need an appointment for the drop-in - just turn up with whatever paperwork you have and we will work with you to assess the problem and decide what needs to happen next."

Sian Alvis, Weymouth and Portland Service Manager, said: "There are lots of ways of contacting Citizens Advice in Weymouth and Portland. As well as the drop-in service in Weymouth Library, we have a drop-in face-to-face service on Wednesday mornings in Littlemoor and on Thursday mornings at the Portland Community venue and you can also get advice by phone 0800 144 88 48 and via email advice-wey@centralca.org.uk. We also run an outreach programme at some of the local GP surgeries - our website has all the details."
