I READ with interest of our local MP Chris Loder’s attendance at the recent local Remembrance ceremonies and then felt disgusted two days later when he voted against the triple lock relating to pensions for our elderly people.
Perhaps he would like to explain why he could not stand “shoulder to shoulder” with them knowing full well that all prices have gone through the roof this year leaving many struggling financially.
A lot of elderly people are veterans having served in our armed forces and deserve better from this government. Yet another broken Tory manifesto promise and no, we do not believe it will be for just one year.
However, every promise broken will not be forgotten when it comes to the next election.
