DOZENS of independent traders will be setting up stall at this year's Buttermarket Christmas Market, which will be returning to Poundbury this weekend after last year's cancellation.

The event will return on Saturday, December 4, which also marks Small Business Saturday.

More than 40 stallholders from across Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire will be selling their wares at the event, which will run from 10am to 4pm.

The Prince and Wales School and Damers School will also be at the event raising money for their Parent Teacher Associations, along with the Yeovil Blood Bikers.

Organiser Charlotte Fancy said: "We are delighted to welcome back so many independent businesses to this years market. Saturday also marks small business Saturday and we hope that everyone has a really successful day.

"We had to make a difficult decision to cancel the market last year with the increase rates in Covid, but we have put lots of measures in place to keep everyone safe this year."
