THERE was a total 716 new coronavirus cases recorded in Dorset within the last 24-hour period, according to the latest statistics.

Latest Government figures show 716 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Saturday, November 4.

This brings the total cases in the county since the start of the pandemic to 108,317.

For the Dorset Council area 335 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area is 2,155 cases, with a case rate of 567.4 per 100,000 people.

A total of 381 new cases were recorded across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council area in the past 24 hours.

As a result that brings the total of cases for the conurbation to 63,740.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP area is 2537 cases, with a case rate of 639.1per 100,000 people.

For the New Forest area there was a total of 152 new cases which makes a total of 20,493 since the start of the pandemic.

The rolling seven-day total for the area is 996 cases, with a case rate of 554.4 per 100,000 people.

Across the whole of the UK there have been 42,848 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, which in total makes 10,421,104 cases since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
