This colourful bustling image makes us here at Looking Back long for the days of summer!

This is a postcard of a very popular looking Castle Cove beach in 1983.

Doesn't that water look inviting?

Castle Cove is known as Weymouth's 'secret beach' and has happy, sunny memories for many readers.

Zenia Shackleton tells us: "Those were the best of days in the 70s. After school we used to go down there and swim."

Graham Ryan recalls: "I used to take my children down there and sit for hours. Great memories."

While Melanie Sands spent a lot of time on this beach. She writes: "I used to work in the beach hut in 1989. It was the best summer job."

You may have noticed in the image that there beach had a jetty back in those days.

Apparently this jetty was the private property of Castle Cove Sailing Club and was removed when they moved to Sandsfoot beach.
