IN NEED of a hand clearing out the Christmas tree? If so you may be in luck with a Dorset charity once again helping people get rid of their traditional festive decoration.

The Weldmar Hospice is bringing back its Christmas Treecycle project to take away the trees for a suggested minimum donation of £10 to the organisation.

The scheme has been running for several years now and the Dorset-based charity is proud to be able to offer the service once more; for real trees only.

A spokesperson for Weldmar said: “We’re delighted that this year our Christmas Treecycle is supported by Trinity Street Christmas Trees, who will be making the collections on our behalf and helping to dispose of the trees in an eco-friendly manner.”

The team will be making collections in Weymouth, Portland, and Beaminster on Saturday January 8.

For Dorchester it will be January 9 and for Blandford, Bridport, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, and Sherborne collections will be made January 10.
