A HEADTEACHER is bringing a creative festival inspired by the works of Shakespeare to school children in Dorset - and organisers are on the lookout for sponsors to ensure the event is a success.

Sponsors are being invited to get involved in the inaugural ‘Shakespeare by The Sea Festival’ that will take place on Wednesday, February 16 at Weymouth Pavilion.

The festival will see whole classes perform abridged versions of Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream to live audiences.

Event organiser, Mr Gary Spracklen, headteacher at The Prince of Wales School said: “This is a unique opportunity to get involved in something that will create lifetime memories for South Dorset school children. In total over 120 children are taking part in this year’s festival from across Weymouth and Dorchester. The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of creativity and we’d love local businesses to get involved."

Three tiers of sponsorship options are available for the inaugural ‘Shakespeare by The Sea Festival' - a £100 bronze sponsorship which includes a quarter page mention in the event programme and two complimentary tickets; a £250 silver sponsorship which includes a half page mention in the event programme and four complimentary tickets; a £500 gold a full page mention in the event programme and eight complimentary tickets.

Tickets for the festival are available now via The Weymouth Pavilion Box Office (and website).
