DRAMATIC pictures show how a car smashed into railings at a car park on a busy Weymouth route.
The crash happened just before 2pm on Thursday at the car park on Commercial Road and sparked a significant 999 response as fire engines and police raced to the scene.
Fortunately nobody was injured.
It is understood that a charging point for electric vehicles was damaged during the smash.
A local eyewitness said: "A car crashed through railings of the car park next to Commercial Road yesterday afternoon.
"Police and firefighters attended the incident. There was concern as an electrical car charging box was hit too."
Dorset Police have confirmed the good news that nobody was hurt.
A spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.56pm on Thursday 13 January 2022 to a report of a single vehicle collision in a car park in Commercial Road in Weymouth.
"It was reported that the vehicle collided with railings. Officers attended with the fire service. The vehicle was recovered at around 3.45pm. There were no reports of any injuries." Did you witness the incident? Share your account: ellie.maslin@dorsetecho.co.uk

A few hours later emergency services were called to another incident in Commercial Road as a woman scaled the multi-storey car park.
