Over recent months, Weymouth's New Image has been doing what we all do from time to time, creating a new look where we live and work.

But at New Image, it isn't just a change of look that's been keeping them busy. They've added bedrooms and offices to the specialist ranges now available, having already established themselves in bathrooms, kitchens and their vast choice in tiles.

Dorset Echo:

It's good to replace and renew. Not for the sake of it, of course, but because we owe it to ourselves to make life more enjoyable with a fresh new look.

As you may recall, initially, this Weymouth-based business opened well over 30 years ago as The Tile Shop, quickly becoming renowned for its range of tiles. News soon got around that this was not just a shop selling tiles, but one where choices were vast, and service was second to none. Trade customers and the public loved it, and it didn't take long for the need to find bigger premises.

So 12 years ago, owner/founder Steve Cobb made the brave move to extensive purpose-built premises on the town's Granby estate. By now, the company had already expanded into bathrooms and kitchens and - from personal experience - I can vouch for the quality products from this local, totally independent firm.

Dorset Echo:

Even before the pandemic began to affect our lives, New Image had plans to expand its highly successful home improvements business. During the past two years, including the forced closure during the early days of Covid19, Steve and his team took the opportunity to review the business. This resulted in the major modernisation and expansion into made-to-measure bedrooms and offices.

First, it was out with the old, with every display being removed from the showroom. This was followed by redesigning the space - just as they would when planning your new rooms, only on a much larger scale.

Then, it was time to update the exterior and say farewell to the Gecko, which has become so well known in the local area, and a total re-brand has been implemented.

New Image has invested back into the local economy using a local graphic designer to design a new logo and fresh new look. The new logo has been brought to fruition with new exterior signs and vehicle wraps, and new business cards and uniform, all provided by local companies.

Why choose New Image?

From a satisfied customer's point of view, there are several reasons for an independent local company to rank highly. As I have already said, I speak from personal experience.

Of course, being local and independent aren't sufficient reasons on their own, especially when you're toying with the idea of spending thousands of pounds!

So having first explored the options - including visits to other companies locally and further afield - invariably New Image ranks highly. The firm is constantly being recommended by those satisfied by the choice available. Added to this are the team's advice and enthusiasm, who know the ins and outs of their trade.

So, what's inside the New Image building?

Displayed on the two levels are easy-to-view, easy-to-touch bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, home/business offices and tiles: also, a host of accessories such as mirrors and small appliances. You have the freedom to roam, enquire, admire, compare, talk about, and buy - but with no high-pressure salesmanship, no obligation to purchase. It's good to visit, go away, think about it and come back again - and again, to make sure!

Dorset Echo:

After you've decided

New Image will visit your home to assess, measure up and advise on the suitability of what you have in mind. Eventually, they will create CAD images showing you how your new room will look. Once this has been completed, they'll offer you the services of various installers/fitters with whom they have contact, for you then to make your arrangements. Once you've agreed, they'll begin making or ordering what it is you have taken a liking to.

Pictures tell the story

I could write a thousand words, but seeing what you can expect is helpful too; the photographs featured here give you insight into what to expect inside the showrooms. But do go and see for yourself.

Back to our (satisfied) customer

Two new bathrooms and one new kitchen later - one customer I came across says, "thank you, New Image, for all the help and advice, supply and fitting". I'm sure New Image have many more testimonials that echo such satisfaction.

It's so good to see an independent company expanding yet again to meet the needs of those looking to make improvements and modernisations at home. Do visit and be surprised at what you find inside!
