A motorist has been slapped with a fine after police stated he wasn't insured to be driving a vehicle he was pulled over in.
It has prompted a warning from officers to check the detail when getting insurance to make sure you're covered.
The vehicle stop came after a busy day for the neighbourhood policing team in Weymouth and Portland and Dorset Police's No Excuse team who teamed up and spent Friday 'targeting road users for a multitude of offences'.
This was a specific road policing operation following complaints from the public.
A Weymouth & Portland Police spokesman said: "Several individuals have been stopped and dealt with for different matters.
"The (driver of the) car pictured made the mistake of not reading the fine print of his insurance policy and despite what he thought, he was not covered to drive (another vehicle). Fixed penalty notice issued.
"Don’t make the same mistake yourself, always check the detail."
The spokesman added: "Just because we specifically targeted it today doesn’t mean we ignore these matters at other times. We will always target road users committing offences on our roads to keep other road users safe. Don’t let it be your rear view mirror we light up in blue next."
