NEW Weymouth manager David Oldfield put the Terras’ squad through its paces yesterday in his first training session since joining the club.

Former Oxford City boss Oldfield succeeded Brian Stock as boss to become Weymouth's 43rd permanent manager.

And he was straight to work, leading his inherited players through a testing first workout at Wimborne Town’s New Cuthbury stadium.

Oldfield focused on fitness and key aspects of the game mixed into a training match, during which he ordered any losing side to do 10 press-ups.

To his credit, Oldfield even got down and churned out 10 of his own in a show of solidarity with the losing Weymouth squad members.

He was later unveiled as boss in an official photoshoot with club photographer Mark Probin before answering questions from the media.

Oldfield then engaged in a meeting with vice-chairman Paul Maitland and non-executive director Mark Palmer.
