A DORSET man was 'stabbed' after reportedly chasing two men acting 'suspiciously ' near his vehicle in the early hours of yesterday morning in Bridport, as police appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.

Police have said at around 1.40am on Tuesday January 18 a man was made aware of two people 'acting suspiciously around his vehicle', at his address in Court Close.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "He went out and chased the men down Kings William Head toward the A3066. The victim managed to catch up with one of the men and they were involved in a scuffle on the ground. The man managed to get away and the victim subsequently realised he had what appeared to be stab wounds to his arm."

The victim attended hospital for treatment to the injuries and has since been discharged.

Detective Constable Kim Williams, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this assault and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Tuesday 18 January 2022 to please contact us.

“I would also urge residents or any motorists who were in the area to check home CCTV and dashcam footage for anything that may assist our investigation.”
