AN OFFENSIVE banner on Boundary Lane has been taken down after five days.
The banner was first spotted early in the morning on the 14 January, it was left up for five days before being removed.
The sign was originally spotted by one woman in Boundary Lane on the left hand side of the bend just before the Cherry Pickers firm.
It said: "No blacks, no gypsies, no dogs. They are all brothers and sisters through Christ. We remember and so do they. Bournemouth Council, the world is watching. Racism must stop."
The concerned local said they were 'disgusted to see the hate content on the banner.'
At the time, the Echo contacted Dorset Council, as the local authority for where the banner was placed, and the ward councillor for St Leonards and St Ives, Cllr Ray Bryan, who then referred the matter to Dorset Police.
The banner remained on the side of the road for five days, before a member of public reported it had been taken down during the day, on January 19.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Officers reattended the location on Thursday 20 January 2022 and discovered that the sign had been removed. We will be liaising further with the landowner.
"No offences have been identified at this time."
