New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Dorset’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
Golden Fish, at 17 Coppice Street, Shaftesbury, was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 16.
And Wareham Pizza and Kebab, at 2 Seymour Place South Street, Wareham, was also given a score of four on December 16.
It means that of Dorset's 281 takeaways with ratings, 245 (87%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
The food hygiene rating gives a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at premises and online so customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.
A 5-star rating means hygiene standards are very good, while 0 means urgent improvement is required.
Venues are marked on a number of factors, including the handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.
