A magical cabaret show promises to astound a Dorchester audience this week.

The Great Baldini, emperor of illusion, prince of prestidigitation, maharajah of mystery, will perform the show at Dorchester Arts at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Thursday, January 27 at 8pm.

The Great Baldini is a magical legend, a relict of the music halls and a theatrical performer of the old school.

He has astounded audiences from the Edinburgh Fringe to Radio 4 listeners, where he performed on-air magic for Front Row and Pick of the Week.

The show explores Baldini’s life through a series of magical illusions. It is said to be a joyously silly romp through magic – imagine Tommy Cooper meets Blofeld.

The Great Baldini is a member of the Magic Circle, the award-winning member of both the Bristol Society of Magic and the Wessex Magical Association.

Tickets are £14 at full price or £12 for Members of Dorchester Arts, under-18s or those on low income and are available from www.dorchesterarts.org.uk/whats-on or telephone 01305 266926 (weekdays 10am - 4pm).
