AN ICONIC beauty spot in Dorset has been named one of the top ten most popular places for a walk in the UK.

Old Harry's Rocks came tenth in a study by waterproof accessories retailer Sealskinz, which analysed data on the most searched destinations for a stroll.

Snowdon in Wales took first place followed by Scotland’s Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in the Lake District, which formed the top three most searched places for a walk.

August was revealed as the busiest time of year for walkers, with December, January, and February being much quieter, likely due to the weather.

The retailer also found that walkers preferred routes near to water, with the majority of the top 10 locations passing rivers, reservoirs or coastline.

Old Harry’s Rocks was the only entry in the top 10 from the south of England.
