LATEST pictures show how demolition work is progressing as the historic former Ferrybridge Inn is torn down to make way for a restaurant and flats.
As reported, work at Wyke in Weymouth began on January 17 to demolish the red brick former 19th-century pub, which was not listed and had been derelict for years before planning permission was granted for a redevelopment scheme.
As these pictures show, the demolition is nearing completion - with developers soon to move in.
Commenting last Monday Hannah Stokes, office manager at South Coast Demolition, said: "We started the demolition work by stripping out the pub, then went on to remove the roof. Slates have been salvaged along with roof timbers and we will also salvage the bricks. The demolition of the main building is nearing completion.
"Once complete, developers will be able to start their process."
As reported, the site is being turned into a complex of 29 flats above a restaurant/café - already being marketed by estate agents as 'The One Chesil Beach Restaurant' and offering panoramic views across the Chesil Beach and the Fleet Lagoon.
According to estate agent Symonds & Sampson the restaurant premises is being constructed over three floors, including a basement, with the premises being completed to a shell so the new occupiers can leave their mark on the finished design.
The commercial venture is listed for sale at £795,000.
