A NORTH Dorset farm business is asking to convert a livestock building into five homes.
Home Farm in Green Lane at Fifehead Neville is hoping to use a specialist submission for farms to allow the conversion to go ahead without the need for a full, detailed, planning consent.
The special planning category exists to allow new uses for redundant farm buildings.
In a letter to Dorset Council a planning agent says that while not free of defects the steel portal framed building is structurally sound and suitable for conversion.
The application says that it would be suitable for three larger homes of 155 square metres each, and two smaller of 94square metres.
The proposals include keeping the existing roof, re-cladding it in insulated zinc sheeting and also keeping the majority of the walls intact.
The full application can be seen on the Dorset Council website, reference, 2022/00415.
