WEYMOUTH boss David Oldfield hailed assistant manager Tom Donati as “influential” for his contribution to the Terras so far.

Donati has only been in the job for two weeks, facing a steep task to get to grips with the National League side.

The former head of academy coaching at Watford, Peterborough and Cambridge United is yet to experience a win at the Terras but he has made a sound start to life at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Oldfield told Echosport: “Tom’s settled in very well, he’s a good coach and a good person.

“The players have taken to him and we’re working well together. He’s very influential as all the staff are.

“We want to not just be a collective on the playing group but also a collective effort on the staff as well.

“He’s started very well. We need to do better results wise but that’s something we all need to do.

“He certainly helps the workload and being able to share the training and all that needs to be done.

“We’ll work as a team and collaborate very closely.

“He’s helped on all of those fronts.”

Weymouth have lost to Stockport, Halifax and Altrincham by respective scorelines of 1-0, 2-0 and 5-0 in their past three games.

The Terras have gone 287 minutes without scoring, going into their crunch Vanarama National League clash at Wealdstone this afternoon (3pm).

Weymouth are nine points off Aldershot in the final safe league position.
