A MAN from Somerset has been handed a £574 court bill for speeding in a Dorset village last summer.
Jim Scott, whose address was given as Lime Court in Keynsham, near Bristol, was charged with exceeding a 30mph speed limit in Spetisbury.
The 57-year-old’s case was heard at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 22, and proved against him using the single justice procedure.
The charge related to an incident in High Street, Spetisbury, where Scott was caught travelling at 45mph in a 30mph zone.
As a result, the court fined the defendant £440, ordered him to pay a £44 surcharge and costs of £90.
Scott’s driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
