FOUR people are being treated for serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on a key route yesterday, with one of the drivers airlifted to hospital.

Officers investigating the road traffic collision near Sherborne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.19pm on Thursday April 7 of a collision involving a white Suzuki Splash and a green BMW at the junction of the A352 and Tiley Knap at Middlemarsh.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and all four occupants of the Suzuki were treated for serious injuries.

The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital and the three passengers were taken to Dorset County Hospital.

Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and an examination of the scene was carried out.

Police Constable Duncan Roberts, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
