THERE are currently 29 sites offering vaccinations around the Dorset with additional pop-ups being planned in some areas soon.

This comes as Dorset NHS announced that following the launch of spring boosters for the most at risk people, a first dose is now also available for all 5-11 year olds with a second dose recommended several weeks later.

The county has two large vaccination centres, in Bournemouth and Dorchester, with some community pharmacies and some GP services also providing vaccinations.

The NHS says there will also be pop-up sites where needed in the coming months.

All sites offer vaccinations for anyone aged 18+ who is not at risk. Some sites also offer vaccinations for children, young people and people who are at risk.

A spokesperson from the NHS Foundation Trust said: "Slots can be booked via the NHS national system or by calling 119 if your chosen site is taking bookings this way.

"If your primary care network of GPs is providing vaccinations (not all of them are) they will contact you with details of how to book on their own booking system (shown as LBS on the table below).

"Both our large vaccination centres offer walk-ins. This is dependent on queues and patients who have booked in advance will take priority. If the centre is busy this may mean a wait if you arrive as a walk-in.

"These and other ad hoc walk-in opportunities are available on the NHS Grab a Jab website."
