CREATIVE classes are being offered to the community of Sherborne in a bid to address isolation and physical challenges in an innovative way.

Dorchester Arts is providing the fun and affordable courses thanks to support from the National Lottery Community Fund.

Arts for Memory is designed for those experiencing early stages of memory loss. The sessions will be run by an experienced tutor and support worker with new creative skills explored each week.

Arts for Parents provides arts and craft sessions for any parent or carer of primary age children who are experiencing difficulties and challenges. The session is designed to offer time out for parents and an opportunity to be creative whilst engaging in a social group of support and friendship.

Parkinson’s Dance is fun class with therapeutic benefits and movement specifically designed for those living with Parkinson’s. It helps to support balance, movement, voice, and independence, taught by two trained specialists with seated or standing movement options on offer. The classes are a fantastic opportunity for people and their carers as they live with the challenges caused by Parkinson’s.

Art for Memory – Tuesdays, 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm at Small Hall, Digby Hall. £4 suggested donation, carers free of charge.

Art for Parents – Tuesdays, 9.30am-11.30am at The Studio, Digby Hall. Free

Parkinson’s Dance – Thursdays, 2pm-4.30pm at Tinneys Lane Youth Club. £4 suggested donation.
