A POPULAR venue has announced a 1970s and 1980s weekender will finally go ahead this summer after being cancelled since 2020 due to Covid.
Weymouth Pavilion will welcome Kick Up The 80s and Abba Stars, a UK tribute show, to the stage in what has been called ‘great entertainment for every occasion’.
Kicking off the weekend is Kick Up The 80s on Friday, June 10 at 8pm – all tickets cost £18. Known as the ‘ultimate 80s party band’ the group have 20 years of sell out shows under their belt and have appeared with 80s legends such as ABC, Go West and Bad Manners.
The high energy party nights feature costume changes, guest star appearances and crowd participation, with classic 80s tunes taken from their song repertoire.
Continuing the party is Abba Stars on Saturday, June 11 at 8pm – all tickets cost £20. The group, impressively, have over 19 years of experience in the UK and Europe and are one the UK’s number one tribute bands.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Featuring some incredibly talented singers and musicians they offer one of the most captivating and authentic tributes to one of the greatest bands of all time.
“With tight harmonies, replica costumes, hint of humour and audience participation it’s a great entertainment for every occasion.”
Party goers can expect to hear iconic songs such as Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Chiquitta, Thank You For The Music, Fernando, I Have a Dream and The Winner Takes It All.
All existing tickets for both shows remain valid.
