WEYMOUTH Pavilion has revealed Enchanted Entertainment as the venue's new producer of the Christmas pantomime show.

They replace the Pavilion's former festive season producer Made to Measure Productions, and it means there will not be a Pirates of the Pavilion production this summer

The new producers will be providing a performance of Sleeping Beauty as part of the Christmas slot.

Enchanted Entertainment artistic director, Guy Pascall said: "We have been touring all over the country for years performing Easter shows, including at Weymouth Pavilion.

"However, to be given the Christmas gig at the venue will allow us to pump more energy into the show for an area we know well.

"It's a great venue with great audiences, and we feel the community understands the gags and love the family vibe we provide."

Mr Pascall said the production company will be introducing 3D projections into the show.

He said: "For this year's Christmas show, we will be doing a performance of Sleeping Beauty.

"Introducing 3D projections is something new that we will be introducing. 3D is another element that will bring the show to life. I don't want to reveal too much, but it will make it more magical."

Altogether, Enchanted Entertainment have more than 50 staff which includes technical and lighting members as well as the cast.

A spokeswoman from Weymouth Pavilion said: "We’re delighted to welcome Enchanted Entertainment back to Weymouth.

"We’ve worked with Enchanted Entertainment many times over the years, most recently over Easter with their show The Wizard of Oz which was a huge success.

"We guarantee this Christmas Pantomime will be one to remember, packed full of dazzling costumes, stage sets and effects, including 3D projection which has never been done before at Weymouth.

"We can’t wait to start our Christmas adventure - we hope to see as many people there."

Mr Pascall added the company will be revealing a few celebrities set to be involved in the production of Sleeping Beauty.

Lee Redwood, dame and director of Made to Measure Productions said: "The Pavilion made the decision to go in a different direction with a new pantomime provider - a decision that they are well within their rights to make, and one which we respect.

"It’s a decision which has allowed us to get creative and begin to innovate new and immersive productions moving forward."
