A MAN was recovered by the coastguard after suffering a leg injury as his two friends slept in a nearby tent unaware of the incident.

The incident happened at Redcliff Point, between Weymouth and Ringstead Bay, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A spokesperson for Wyke Coastguard said: “Some of the team were rudely awoken this morning, some just slept on.

“Tasked at 0130 to recover a male casualty with a leg injury in the vicinity of Redcliff Point. He was located on the beach with 2 so called friends, both were fast asleep in their tent.

“He was given some encouragement and walked to an awaiting ambulance.”
