An impressive convoy of more than 65 Second World War vehicles will be charging into Dorchester this weekend.

On Saturday, June 18, Armour and Embarkation 2022 will turn back the clock in the county town as the vehicles journey into Dorchester via High East Street at around 3.30pm, then Church Street, heading towards Weymouth Avenue outside Brewery Square.

Here, they will park up for between one and a half and two hours for the public to see, hear, touch and to enjoy chatting to their owners and crew.

Look out for trucks, Jeeps, dispatch riders and even Sherman tanks.

Everyone is very welcome and is invited to come dressed in 1940s style.

The event is designed to remind people what happened in Dorchester 78 years ago with the build-up of build-up of allied forces around Dorchester ahead of embarkation from Portland to the beaches of Normandy to take part in Operation Overlord.
