A LIVE art demonstration from a popular Bristol artist can be viewed at a Dorchester gallery.

Halo Fine Art Gallery in Brewery Square will host the ‘Escape to The Great Outdoors’ exhibition, a display of the work of the UK’s leading landscape and seascape artists.

Visitors can see a live art demonstration by Mary Shaw on Saturday, July 2 from 1pm-3pm.

Georgia Heggs, Managing Director of Halo Fine Art, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming an artist of Mary Shaw’s calibre to Dorchester, to have the opportunity to host a live showcase of an artist at work is extremely unique and exciting - truly a moment not to be missed.

“Through the exhibition, we are looking forward to introducing our guests to the cream of the crop of the UK’s talented landscape and seascape artists.”

The self-taught artist uses diamond dust to give each painting an iridescent sparkle, adding a contemporary twist to otherwise traditional scenes.

The King of Qatar also owns artwork by Mary Shaw, gifted to him by his son Prince Abdullah Al Thani.

Charlotte Spracklen, Centre Manager at Brewery Square, said: “We continually strive to collaborate with our businesses to provide new cultural experiences for the people of Dorchester - ‘Escape to The Great Outdoors’ is set to be an exciting and enlightening afternoon for our visitors.”

The event hosted by the Halo Fine Art Gallery will also feature work from renowned contemporary artists Philip Gray and John Waterhouse later that afternoon.
