A FLAG was raised at the offices of Weymouth Town Council to show support for the armed forces.
The event yesterday was the culmination of celebrations in the resort for armed forces personnel past, present and future.
Armed Forces Day flag raising is part of a national initiative which took place at the same time in several locations to honour military personnel.

In Weymouth at the weekend crowds enjoyed the parades, witnessed an amazing flypast featuring a Hurricane and attended a poignant service on the seafront.
Yesterday, Cllr Ann Weaving, Mayor of Weymouth, was joined by local and visiting veterans for the flag raising ceremony.

She said: “Armed Forces Weekend is one of Weymouth’s biggest and best occasions and it’s always so special to see the town come together to honour our armed forces personnel of the past, present and future. The raising of the Armed Forces Day flag rounds off a weekend of commemorative events and we’re very proud to be flying the flag as a mark of respect and appreciation for all the hard work, bravery and commitment of those who serve our country.”
