A MAN who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the sudden death of a man in Weymouth will face no further police action, detectives have confirmed.

At around 12.20pm on Monday, October 11, officers received a report from the ambulance service relating to the sudden death of a man aged in his 50s at an address in Portmore Gardens.

An enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death was launched by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team and a Weymouth man aged in his 20s, who was know to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and released under investigation.

Following a detailed investigation, as well as forensic post-mortem examination and toxicology tests, he has now been released from the investigation and will face no further police action.

Detectives are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
