A TALKING newspaper for the blind and visually impaired is raising money to allow them to continue their vital work.
The South West Dorset Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Visually Impaired will be hosting the nine-piece band, The Omega band, at Greenhill Gardens, Weymouth on Sunday June 26 at 2pm.
Eleanor, who represents SWDTN said: “We provide a weekly roundup of news supplied on memory stick, to our listeners. It can be so isolating to be blind or visually impaired, and access to local news can be limited. We have a great team of all unpaid volunteers, but of course the production cost, electricity etc is constantly increasing. That is why these fundraising events are so important.
"Because of Covid we have found that our potential listeners are also not aware of our free service, so we are trying to raise our profile. So if any readers know somebody who is visually impaired could they please get in touch in order for us to provide our FREE service."
