DETAILS have emerged on when roadworks are expected to end in central Weymouth.

Broadband provider Jurassic Fibre has been carrying out repairs and maintenance works to both Kirtleton Avenue and Carlton Road South since Monday (June 20).

Both roads are usually lined with cars from residents living within the area, but motorists have had to move their cars elsewhere in order for the works to be completed.

According to Dorset Council and Jurassic Fibre the works are expected to end today (June 22).

However, a spokesman from Jurassic Fibre said the works may have to be ended until tomorrow (Thursday, June 23).

He said: "The works should be completed by the end of today, but it's possible they will be extended tomorrow.

"Fingers crossed they will not be extended, but if they are - they will be completed by Thursday and will not extend into Friday."

The two roads are regularly used for free parking by motorists that live in the neighbouring Park District - an area which requires parking permits.
