AN OPEN day is being held where people can find out more about becoming a healthcare assistant (HCA) at Dorset County Hospital.

DCH is expanding the team of HCAs in both surgical and medical areas and the information event is for those interested in starting their career at the Dorchester hospital.

HCAs support staff and patients in wards and departments throughout the hospital. They make sure the patient experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

A spokesman said: "Come along to our open day and talk to our teams about what it means to be a HCA and what qualifications you need to kickstart your HCA career with us.

"If you have a true passion for care and keen to join a fantastic trust, in a beautiful location, then we would love to see you. We will have talks from various teams throughout the day and a chance to apply and be interviewed there and then."

The open day is at Weymouth Pavilion on Thursday, June 30 from 1pm-6pm.
