FIND out more about Dorchester's hidden gem at a talk in the county town.
Steve Wallis, local historian and senior archaeologist at Dorset Council, will be talking about the Roman Town House in Dorchester at the next monthly meeting of the Dorchester and District Gardening Club on Wednesday, July 6.
It will take place at St George’s Church Hall, High Street, Fordington, Dorchester DT1 1LB. Doors open at 7.15 pm for a 7.30pm start.
The talk will focus on the history of the town house's discovery, what there is on site, the recent improvement project and how it fits in with Roman Dorchester.
Free entry for members, visitors £4 on the door. There will also be a bring and buy stall and a draw, with tea/coffee and biscuits available afterwards. Call 01305 268523 for more information.
