A man was hospitalised last night following an incident on Portland Road in Wyke Regis.

A number of police units were seen to be giving the man medical assistance shortly after 8pm yesterday before the ambulance service took over.

The precise nature of the incident is not being disclosed but the man was taken to Dorset County Hospital as a result.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 20.16hrs on Thursday 23 June to an incident in the Wyke Regis area of Weymouth. 

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and conveyed one patient to Dorset County Hospital”.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 8.36pm on Thursday 23 June 2022 of a man requiring medical assistance in Portland Road in Weymouth. 

“Officers attended and provided assistance before the ambulance service attended and the man was left in the care of the ambulance service.”
