POLICE are warning residents about recent 'suspicious incidents' of people looking to collect scrap.
Officers have said the suspicious incident have been seen in rural Bridport and have reminded residents that any scrap should not be made without the correct licences.
Residents approached by anyone one saying they are looking for scrap have been advised to ask to see their Waste Carriers licence.
A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "In the rural area around Bridport, there have been some recent suspicious incidents of people looking to collect scrap.
"Scrap collection should be carried out by persons with the correct licences. If anyone is approached by any person looking for scrap, ask to see their Waste Carriers licence first.
"If you are concerned about a suspicious incident, please report it to Dorset Police on 101 (at the time), or online at www.dorset.police.uk.
"If you are concerned that someone is operating without the correct licence, please contact Dorset Council."
