A WEEKEND of nostalgia will be held in a Weymouth cinema to mark the release of a new film.

Turn back the clock with a 1940s Railway Weekend at Cineworld, Weymouth, to tie in with the release of The Railway Children sequel The Railway Children Return.

The new movie will be released on Friday, July 15 when the weekend of nostalgia will begin, continuing until Sunday, July 17.

There will be an historic photo display of the railway in Weymouth over the years and on Saturday, July 16, the Decadettes will be performing a selection of 1940s wartime songs from 8pm in the foyer.

Customers who are coming to watch the film are invited to dress up for the occasion in 1940s style clothing to add to the nostalgic atmosphere.

The Railway Children Return, a sequel to one of the most beloved British family films of all time, follows a group of children evacuated to a Yorkshire village during the Second World War, where they encounter a young soldier who, like them, is far from home.
