FIND out more about Dorchester's ancient tunnels at a talk.
The next meeting of the South Dorset group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society is called Underground Dorchester.
It takes place at St Aldhelm's Church Centre in Spa Road, Weymouth, on Friday July 15 at 3pm.
The talk will be given by history enthusiast David Taylor.
A network of tunnels has been discovered in Antelope Walk, Dorchester believed to connect to the town’s famous Old Crown Court and cells.
The passageway used by the notorious Judge Jeffreys, who instilled widespread fear during the Bloody Assizes of 1685, was rediscovered underneath Antelope Walk in 2014.
The walk dates back to Roman times and the courtyard was the location for the old Roman mint.
Coffee will be served at 3pm and is followed by the talk.
There will no meeting of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society in August.
