THE OWNERS of a scared and nervous dog who went missing over a month ago have vowed to not leave the area until he is found as they describe the ordeal as ‘torture’.

Patch, a white Jack Russell Terrier Cross breed, went missing on Saturday June 4 whilst the family were in the area on holiday, staying at their caravan in Parkdean Resorts West Bay Holiday Park.
Described as a nervous and scared dog, Patch is a rescue dog who has been with his now family for seven years.
The last information shared on Patch was sightings of him around 4am on June 19 in West Bay harbour - which prompted them to spend multiple nights in the area looking out for him.
The family have been going between their home of Sheffield and West Bay to continue searches – aside from mother, Josie, who has not left the area since Patch went missing.
Daughter Sam said: “We will stay as long as possible. Mum has stayed here since and will not leave until Patch is found. It’s just so frustrating and difficult. You hear of dogs going missing for months, even years and returning, so we keep hoping and praying.
“We’re trying to keep social media alive and updated so people don’t forget about Patch. It is torture going through this and not knowing what’s happened.
“We are so grateful to whole community in West Bay who have been fantastic. There has been nothing but support and well wishes for us. People we’ve never ever met have taken time to help, from individuals, shops, businesses, people doing their part online. It’s all very moving.”
In efforts to find Patch, local photographer for Bridport and West Bay, Neil Barnes took his drone out along the cliff side between West Bay and Eype but there was unfortunately no sign.
The family are now making a plea to the general public for someone with a night time thermal drone who could help them search areas that are covered with dense gorse and vegetation as they are areas not easy to gain access to.
