PRIMARY school children from across North Dorset perfected their backstroke to compete against each other in an inter-primary swimming competition.

The event, which saw pupils from years four, five and six, invited children from Sherborne Primary, Thornford, Buckland Newton, Bishop’s Caundle, and Sherborne Abbey Primary take part in the competition which allowed them to ‘keenly’ demonstrate their swimming skills.

Taking place in Sherborne, the children not only showed off their swimming abilities but also their voice box abilities when they impressively cheered on their teammates.

Thornthord Primary were also crowned the overall winners of the afternoon, with pupils having obtained the most points in total.
