A WOMAN was taken to hospital by air ambulance after she was found on a Dorset beach requiring ‘urgent care’.
Multiple emergency services, including an air ambulance and a double-crewed land ambulance, were tasked to the incident on Cogden beach shortly after 5.30pm last night (July 26).
A spokesperson for Wyke Coastguard said: “We were tasked at 1740 to prepare the HLS (hospital landing site) at Dorchester for a rescue helicopter. A casualty found on Cogden beach required urgent hospital care.
“She was airlifted to Dorchester and transferred to an awaiting ambulance. Wyke then met West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team to return equipment used in the recovery of the casualty before returning to station.”
“A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 17:32hrs on Tuesday 26 July to an incident near Bridport. We sent an air ambulance, a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer.”
